Starting with the first matriarch, my grandmother, my abuelita, my grand-mère, Lorraine. Born in Mississippi, she was a Southern belle to her core. She embodied femininity, grace, and strength in a way that continues to live through me.
She was deeply rooted in beauty, always styled with intention, from her signature hair flips to her makeup. There was never a hint of tomboy energy in her, only softness, elegance, and pride in being a woman. At the same time, she was strong and protective, never playing about her family and always holding it together.
With her Hispanic and Creole Latinidad, she carried culture, beauty, and resilience effortlessly. A Leo woman born in August, she moved through life with confidence, presence, and undeniable power. She is the foundation of my femininity and the inspiration behind everything I create.
Kyesha Shikera
Ending with my beautiful mother, Kyesha Shikera, the Latina beauty of our generational family tree. Born in Los Angeles, California, she carried a presence that could light up any room, full of warmth, vibrance, and a heart of gold.
She embodied strength, femininity, and culture in a way that left a lasting imprint on everyone around her, especially me. Rooted in Hispanic, Cajun, Creole, and Isleño traditions, she poured into me the essence of what it means to be a woman, to move with grace, carry myself with confidence, and stand firmly in my own power.
From a young age, she instilled in me the importance of independence, education, and purpose. She encouraged me to dream beyond limits, to build something of my own, and to walk boldly in my identity. Because of her influence, I stepped into entrepreneurship early, becoming a business owner and continuing to grow into the woman she always knew I could be.
